I have had some cool things happen in my artist career. I am part of an artist collaborative called Art Studio N.7. Yes!!!!! I am part of this experimental art community and I couldn't be happier! As many of you may already know, struggles with style are so real. I've spent so much time trying to hone in on what, how and why I paint. What I came to realize (and finally understand) everything for me is about feeling. It's about emotion... it's about the split second where your way of thinking is brought to an entirely new level. My work has grown dramatically and I am beyond proud of myself for everything I have created, gone through and the chances I have taken. I love creating but now I love EVERYTHING that pushes me to create even more.
For all of my fellow artist, as cliche as this is going to sound... the only way to get somewhere is by never giving up. Sorry to be contrived but it's the honest truth. I didn't want to spend more borrowed time with wondering and regretting not taking those chances. So, if not now, then when? In terms, of finding your style, it comes through TONS of practice. I know we all don't have the time to just sit there and paint but even a trip to the bathroom can become a quick sketch moment. You don't need an extravagant story. This artist, Eliza Ivanova, developed her style based on time. She is a mother and wanted to do something quick, so she used a tortillion to quicken her sessions. Yes, that simple.
